It’s truly an honor when a wedding photographer chooses you to capture their own special day! I’m fortunate to photograph all types of weddings, from grand weekend celebrations to intimate micro weddings, and each holds its own charm. But what made Sarah and Cody’s wedding unforgettable was the intimate setting — they said “I do” in the backyard of Sarah’s family home.

I’ve found that weddings at a family estate or private backyard always feel more relaxed compared to traditional venues. Without the pressure of a strict timeline, there’s more freedom to savor the moments. My own wedding took place in my parents’ backyard, so I’ll always have a special place in my heart for intimate celebrations like this one.

Since recently relocating to the West Coast, I’ve rediscovered my love for light. The golden hour here is simply unmatched! Just before sunset, we raced to the nearby mountain range, only steps away from Sarah’s family home, for the perfect sunset portraits — a magical way to end the day.
