Returning to my hometown is always special, but coming back to the capital of Pennsylvania to photograph a wedding makes it even more meaningful. R+Z’s beautiful day took place at The King Mansion in downtown Harrisburg, a venue known for its historic charm, elegant architecture, and intimate atmosphere.

Having recently moved closer to Lake Tahoe, it’s always fascinating to shift between two completely different landscapes. Tahoe weddings are often surrounded by towering mountains, pine forests, and dramatic outdoor scenery. Shooting a wedding back in downtown Harrisburg was a beautiful contrast—more intimate, architectural, and steeped in East Coast elegance. Switching between these environments pushes my creativity and reminds me why I love documenting love stories in such diverse settings.
