Warning: this is an epic bride story! I really want to talk about Joy and Andy, but first, hear this.
Joy found me in one of the most random ways, through a hashtag on instagram. Finally Insta, you’re paying off! Through Olivia Bottega, an Etsy shop based in Russia. Joy searched the Olivia Bottega hashtag because she wanted to see what their dresses looked like on real brides, and came across one of my images. She thought there would be no way the photographer was from Pennsylvania, let alone the U.S., right? Well, funny enough she found that I, this random photographer, was based in Hershey, when she was to be married in Harrisburg. This is not even the best part.
My husband frequently remarked that I was a fangirl of Joy, but how could I not when, one, she has such an amazing personality, and two, we have A LOT in common. This list of our similarities is kind of ridiculous, which is why we had so much to talk about. We both come from large families who were homeschooled, love swing dancing, drive stick-shift, and honestly, more that I don’t even want to waste your time with.
Then, when I met Andy, I fell even more in love with them. He is just hilarious; good work, Joy. They met at church and were friends for years before they finally fell in love. One of my favorite parts about their wedding was their “open mic” where their friends and family shared stories of their take on Joy and Andy’s transition from friends to more than friends 😉
Throughout the wedding process, they endured so many changes due to COVID and handled everything super well. They just wanted to get married; that was the only thing that truly mattered. They are: The. Cutest. Couple. He sang to her during the ceremony, to which we all, including my husband, cried.
I hope you guys enjoy this blog post from your biggest fan, stay Golden!
